Civil Aviation Minister says to date, 18 Remote Pilot Training Centres licensed by DGCA

<span style="color: #222222;">Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia today informed the Lok Sabha that, to date, there are 18 Remote Pilot Training Centres licensed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). In response to a question by Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy, Mr Scindia said, the number of pilots for drone operations and training centres to facilitate the same would go up in the coming years.<br />''<br />''The Minister said, drones offer tremendous benefits to almost all sectors of the economy and these include agriculture, vaccine delivery, search and rescue, mapping and law enforcement to name a few. Mr Scindia said, the government released the liberalised Drone Rules, 2021 on 25th of August 2021. He informed the house that Drone Outreach Programmes were conducted in various states and UTs to promote the use of drones, encourage startups for innovation, research, and development in the emerging sector. Mr Scindia said, as per Drone Rules 2021, there is no requirement for drone manufacturers in the country. He also said any person can operate drones in a green zone without prior permission up to a height of 400 feet.</span><br />
