In Kerala, the first phase of election to the local self government institutions is taking place today. Polling is going on in seven districts of the state. Peaceful polling started at 7 am and voters can exercise franchise up to 5 pm. The present election to local bodies is crucial to both ruling LDF,, and Congress led opposition.
