Coal India Limited, CIL has taken several initiatives for the safety and to improve living conditions of coal mine workers. According to an official release, CIL has constructed more than four lakhs dwelling units providing accommodation to all its workers with improved water, electricity and roads. This information was given by Minister of Coal, Mr. Sriprakash Jaiswal to the Members of Parliamentary Consultative Committee attached to his ministry in New Delhi today. He said, CIL and its subsidiaries have been directed to organize periodic health checkups of all employees and their families. The Minister said Coal companies have also been directed to provide better facilities to the people living in and around mining projects and the persons affected with the mining projects.
