Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan has termed poverty as the greatest violation of human rights in the country.<br/><br/>He was inaugurating a project for Promotion of Women Empowerment and Rights to end Violence Against Women, in Kochi this evening.<br/><br/>He said various welfare schemes launched by the union government should empower women to fight inequalities, poverty and corruption. He said these schemes if implemented in the true sense of its objective will bring in good results.<br/><br/>Later in a brief interaction with the media, the Chief Justice said the transfer of Justice P D Dinakaran to the Sikkim High Court is only a proposal until a final decision is taken by the President.<br/><br/>The Chief Justice also inaugurated the Golden Jubilee Chamber complex of the Kerala High Court Advocates' Association.
