Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has welcomed the launch of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana to empower country's poor. In a statement, CII Director General, Chandrajit Banerjee said it is an innovative and much needed step which will address the challenge of poverty eradication through financial inclusion. He termed the scheme as an unique one saying it offers many benefits through opening of bank account and will also allow the government to transfer the subsidy benefits directly to the end consumer.
