CII to promote five districts in three naxal affected states

Industry chamber CII today said it will promote at least five districts in three affected states. This is in a quick response to the Home Minister Mr P Chidambram's call on Wednesday for private sector investment in the Naxal-infested areas.<br/><br/>The CII president Hari S Bhartia said in New Delhi that the chamber would encourage investment in social sectors like education and skill development in Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra under the pilot project. <br/><br/>Bhartia said being a part of the civil society, the industry will be pro-active in investing in disturbed areas.<br/><br/>CII will help industry create jobs by training and building the spirit of entrepreneurship under the pilot project. <br/><br/>The five pilot districts are Vishakapattanam and Khammam in Andhra Pradesh, Jehanabad and Jambua in Bihar and Gadchiroli in Maharashtra, Banerjee said,adding some Jharkhand districts may also be included in the pilot project.<br/>
