The Confederation of Indian Industries, CII, findings say that agriculture and private sectors are the largest sources of employment in the country. Talking to newsmen at the annual press conference in New Delhi today, CII's new President Hari S. Bhartia said that the government and the private sector must come together to create employability skills. He said, more jobs could be created by putting technology and best practices together. Holding the CII focus for the next year, he said, it would be business for livelihood. Mr. Bhartia further noted that the private sector growth needs to increase from 9.5 to 12 per cent to reduce the job gap. Stressing the need for growth in the manufacturing sector, he said that one per cent of growth in this sector creates 20 to 30 million additional jobs. He further said that education is a big agenda for CII for employability skills and for that the apex industrial body will launch ten new skill development centres across the country.
