Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has lauded Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's announcements saying the second tranche of stimulus package rightfully focused on providing relief to poor including migrant workers, farmers, street vendors and members of tribal community.
In a statement, CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee said the immediate availability of 30,000 crore rupees of Emergency Working Capital Funds through NABARD for small and marginal farmers is heartening news. He said that two lakh crore concessional credit boost to farmers through the Kisan Credit Cards will ensure that the ongoing agricultural operations are not interrupted due to lack of funds.
Mr Banerjee said availability of free food grains and concessional rental housing is expected to alleviate the stress being experienced by migrants while measure to extend Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme for middle income group is expected to give a boost to the all-important housing sector.
