The Confederation of Indian Industry and Dhaka based India-Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry have decided to set up a joint working group to enhance bilateral trade and investment between India and Bangladesh. The two business chambers announced this as the part of joint declaration issued in Dhaka today on the occasion of the visit of a high level business delegation of CII to Bangladesh. The delegation comprising 30 business leaders from diverse sectors of Indian Industry is led by Mr. Shyamel Gupta, Special Advisor to Tata International Ltd. Addressing a seminar on Bangladesh as an investment destination as part of programme of Indian delegation's visit, Bangladesh Industry Minister Dilip Barua urged Indian companies to invest in thrust area like power, infrastructure an IT industry. Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Mr. Rajeet Mitter emphasised the need to set up more joint venture companies to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
