The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has appreciated government's decision to clear the 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations. CII President Naushad Forbes said the move will boost consumption in the economy and lead to higher GDP growth. He said hike in salaries of the government employees will have a positive impact in terms of boosting demand and push economic growth. The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) too said the pay hike of government employees will give a strong boost to the consumer demand and help uplift the growth of the economy. Sharing similar views, Assocham said thsi would have a positive impact in the short to medium term.
