The Central Information Commission, CIC, today organised a seminar on Land Records and Right to Information Act 2005, in New Delhi. <br/><br/>Addressing the seminar, Chief Information Commissioner Radha Krishna Mathur said, digitization of land records is crucial to minimize the disputes related to land. Mr Mathur also said, the state governments should maintain the land records as there are nearly 50 per cent RTI related to information on land records. <br/><br/>The seminar was attended by Principal Secretaries/ Secretaries of State Government's Land Resources/ Revenue Departments, Chief Information Commissioners and Information Commissioners from State Information Commissions and Central Information Commission. Some NGOs working in the area of land records were also participated in the seminar.
