The Central Investigation Bureau, CIB of Nepal has arrested 15 persons with demonetised Indian currency worth 2.15 crore rupees. A special team of CIB raided a house in Kathmandu and recovered old Indian notes of 500 and 1000 worth amounting to 98 lakh rupees on Tuesday. <br/><br/>In another case more than 1 lakh 16 thousand in old 500 and 1000 currency were confiscated from a car parked outside a hotel in Kathmandu. Police has also seized 20 mobile phones and 3 cars from the arrested persons. A senior CIB officer told AIR that acting upon a tip off, Bureau carried out the raids and arrested 15 persons for smuggling demonetised Indian notes to earn profit by exchanging them with Nepalese currency.
