Senior Congress leader Choudhary Birender Singh today held a closed-door meeting with BJP President Amit Shah in New Delhi. The meeting is significant amid reports that Mr. Singh may quit the Congress ahead of Assembly elections in Haryana.
Mr. Singh has been criticizing state Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for quite some time blaming him for party's debacle in Lok Sabha elections in the state. He also demanded leadership change in the state.
Meanwhile, General Secretary In-charge of Haryana, Shakeel Ahmad said that the party has taken cognizance of Singh's meeting with BJP chief and is trying to contact him to ascertain the reasons behind his meeting.
