Cholera spreading in different parts of Orissa

In Orissa, the deadly Cholera is spreading its tentacles with every passing day with death toll touching 115 in tribal-dominated Rayagada district. However, the authorities claimed the death toll at 39. There are more than 2000 people in Rayagada district who are affected by this deadly Cholera. The Regional Medical Research Centre at Bhubaneswar has found 'El Tor Variant' virus in the samples collected from Rayagada district which is taking life of the patient within six hours. After western and southern Orissa, the deadly Cholera is also slowly spreading to the coastal districts of the state. Eleven people in Kendrapara district has reportedly been affected by the Cholera. Meanwhile, Orissa health minister Prasanna Acharya and health secretary and other senior officials of the state visited Cholera-affected Bisam Cuttack and Kalayansighpur blocks of Rayagada district to take stock of the situation.
