Chinese VP to be reaching Dhaka on Monday

Chinese Vice President Xi Jinpeng will be reaching Dhaka tomorrow on a two day visit. This is the first visit by a Vice President of China to Bangladesh. Briefing reporters in Dhaka on the agenda for the Chinese Vice President’s visit, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Dipumoni said that an economic co-operation agreement will be signed between the two countries during the visit. The foreign Minister also said that the project related to the building and launching of Bangladesh’s first satellite would also dominate the discussions between the Chinese Vice President Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday. Describing the visit as very important in strengthening bilateral relations she said the two leaders would discuss various bilateral issues including defence co-operation. During his stay in Dhaka the Chinese Vice President will also hold discussions with Bangladesh President Zillur Rahman,Speaker Abdul Hamid and opposition leader Khaleda Zia.
