Chinese trade surplus shrinks for second straight month

China's trade surplus fell in September for the second straight month, reflecting the ongoing weakness of the global economy. The government's custom bureau said the country posted a 14.5 billion dollar surplus last month, compared to 17.8 billion dollar surplus posted in August. China's trade surplus in July stood at 31.5 billion dollar, the highest mark in two-and-a-half years. The Voice of America reports said that, demand for Chinese-made goods has been hurt by falling demand in Europe and the United States.
