A fire in a shopping mall in northern China has killed 18 people. It broke out on Friday morning and burnt for 12 hours before being extinguished. The official Xinhua News Agency said the mall had been built in the 1980's, and most of the shops sold clothes or electrical goods. The cause of the fire is not known.
