Directorate of Revenue Intelligence conducted raids in 100 godowns in different cities and recovered various types of Chinese make firecrackers worth over two crore rupees.<br/><br/>The raids were conducted in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Trichy, Vijawada, Madurai and Ludhiana.<br/><br/>The action was taken in view of specific intelligence input regarding large scale smuggling of sub-standard Chinese firecrackers by concealment and mis-declaration.<br/><br/>Import of fire crackers in India is restricted under Foreign Trade Policy and it is allowed only against a government license.<br/>In a statement, Commerce Ministry said it has not issued any license to any importer so far.
