Defence Minister A K Antony will make a statement in Parliament today on media reports of Chinese intrusion and occupation of Indian territory. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath said this to reporters outside Parliament this morning. He said, the government has nothing to hide or conceal in the matter which is of national interest and national importance.
Mr Nath said, the matter if needed, will also be taken up for discussion. He said the Defence Minister's statement in Parliament will bring to light the real situation. He said, Mr Antony will make his statement on the issue in both Houses at 1 pm in the Lok Sabha and at 3 pm in the Rajya Sabha.
Media reports had said that Chinese army had intruded into Indian territory and also prevented Indian troops from patrolling up to the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh sector.
Mr Kamal Nath also said, there is a heavy agenda before Parliament today including the Street Vendors Protection of Livelihood and Prohibition of Employment of Manual Scavengers Bills. He said like yesterday, today's proceedings are expected to extend late into the night to conduct important legislative business.
