Chinese dissident and Human Rights activist Liu Xiaobo has won the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize for his long and non-violent struggle for fundamental human rights in China. The Norwegian Nobel Committee says, it has long believed that there is a close connection between human rights and peace. Currently serving a jail term of 11 years on charges of subversion, Liu, an author was charged with writing pro-free speech manifesto. He also participated in 1989 Tiananmen Square protests at Beijing.
