The Politburo Member of the Communist Party of China and party secretary of Shangai, Han Zheng called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi yesterday. The Prime Minister recalled the meeting between the two in Shanghai during his visit to China last year. <br/><br/>Mr Modi said, the Mumbai-Shanghai Sister City agreement has laid the foundation of strong relations between the financial capitals of India and China. He said, the establishment of the India-China Provincial Leaders' Forum was a welcome step towards broadening and strengthening the bilateral relations between the two nations.<br/><br/>The two leaders discussed the current global economic scenario and noted that strong economic growth in India and China can act as an engine of growth for the global economy. Mr Zheng said, Prime Minister Modi's visit to Shanghai last year and the increased awareness about India have led to an increase in the number of visitors from Shanghai to India.
