China's Hebei province reports 20 of the 23 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases in mainland China on 5th Jan

<span style="color: #222222;">China's Hebei province, which entered a wartime mode yesterday, accounted for 20 of the 23 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in mainland China on 5th January, more than the total of 19 confirmed cases in the province in the three previous days.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The provincial health commission said that Hebei also accounted for 43 of 64 new asymptomatic cases which China does not count as confirmed COVID-19 cases. Hebei's capital, Shijiazhuang, a city of 11 million people that reported 19 confirmed and 41 asymptomatic cases, has ramped up countermeasures.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">China's National Health Commission said that it received reports of 32 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases and 64 newly reported asymptomatic cases on the Chinese mainland yesterday. Apart from Hebei, Beijing, Liaoning and Heilongjiang also have reported one locally transmitted case each. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">China continues to take aggressive measures to prevent another wave of the disease that has killed 4,634 people in China and nearly 1.9 million globally. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the mainland reached 87,215 including 443 patients still receiving treatment.</span><br />''
