China's first home-built aircraft carrier hit the water today boosting its military presence amid rising tensions in the region. China's state-run Xinhua news agency reported that the Vice -Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Fan Changlong, attended the ship launching ceremony of 001A. <br/><br/>It is the country's second aircraft carrier, after the Liaoning, and the first to be made domestically. It comes amid heated rhetoric between the US and North Korea in recent days.
