China trade growth plunges in new sign of weakness

China's latest monthly figures on trade growth have seen an unexpectedly sharp decline in what is being seen as a further sign of the weakness of the world economy. Chinese exports in the month of July rose just one per cent, down from June's 11.3 per cent growth rate and well below the forecast. The country's growth in imports during the month, has also slowed down.
