China says it is putting three Tibetan Buddhist monks on trial next week on charges of deliberately killing a monk in Sichuan province in south-west China who set himself on fire in March. Two of them are accused of plotting and helping the self-immolation of the young monk who was reported to be protesting Chinese government policies.
