China has announced that it will hold a national day of mourning on Wednesday for the victims of a powerful earthquake, which struck the Qinghai province in the west of the country a week ago. China's state council say public entertainment will be curtailed across China and flags and will be flown at half-mast. <br/> <br/>Meanwhile, despite freezing conditions rescue operation has not been abandoned. <br/> <br/>On Monday, three survivors were pulled out from the rubble, including an elderly woman. They had been kept alive by relatives who fed them rice and water. Tens of thousands of people have been left homeless by the earthquake but relief supplies are now pouring into the worst hit area. <br/>
