China must open its market to American manufacturing if it hopes to strike a trade deal: Trump

US President Donald Trump has said that China must open its market to American manufacturing and agricultural goods if it hopes to strike a trade deal with the US. In a tweet, Trump said that he is looking for China to open their markets not only to financial services, but also to our manufacturing, farmers and other US businesses and industries. He added if China does not comply with these conditions a deal will be unacceptable.
''
'' Earlier, Trump hailed tremendous progress in trade negotiations. He, however, added that no final deal will be made until he meets Chinese President Xi Jinping in near future to discuss some of the long standing and more difficult points.
''
''These remarks came as a Chinese delegation, headed by Vice Premier Liu He, was in Washington for the latest round of negotiations with US officials for defusing the escalating tariff war. US and China have just a month remaining in a 90-day trade truce declared in December. Should the talks fail, tariffs on 200 billion US dollars of Chinese imports are set to increase from 10 per cent to 25 per cent.
