China Masters: Four Indian players enter quarter-finals

Four Indian players – P.V. Sindhu, Sourabh Verma, Ajay Jayaram and RMV Gurusaidutt have entered the quarter-finals of the China Masters badminton tournament.At Changzhou today, rising woman shuttler P.V. Sindhu stunnned world No 14 and eighth seed Porntip Buranaprasertsuk of Thailand in three games 10-21, 21-7, 21-9 to advance to the next stage. In the men's section, Sourabh triumphed 21-12 21-16 against Chinese Taipei's Jen Hao Hsu, Ajay defeated Singapore's Zi Liang Derek Wong 21-17 21-9, and RMV Gurusaidutt overcame fellow Indian P Kashyap 16-21, 21-18, 21-4. In the Mixed doubles event, the eighth seeded Indian pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Tarun Kona crashed out in the opening round itself. The duo lost 9-21 14-21 to the Malaysian combination of Jian Guo Ong and Yin Loo Lim.
