China, India exchange greetings on 60th anniversary of ties

India and China have exchanged greetings at the highest level to mark the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between them. The top leadership of both the countries vowed to further strengthen bilateral relations which have assumed global and strategic dimensions.<br/><br/> President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, in a letter to her Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao, observed that the bilateral relations have gained in strength and momentum and have assumed global and strategic dimensions as a result of efforts by the two sides.<br/><br/> Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in his message to his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao, said, India-China relations have diversified into almost all areas of human endeavour. He observed, both the countries have achieved a high level of maturity that serves the interests of both the peoples and the cause of peace, stability and progress in the region and the world.<br/><br/> Messages were also exchanged yesterday between External Affairs Minister S M Krishna and his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi.
