Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has said that China and India are partners for cooperation and not rivals in competition. Addressing a gathering of captains of Industry from India and China in New Delhi yesterday, Mr Wen said there is enough space in the world for the development of both China and India. Chinese Premier said, his country is open to more imports from India to address the trade imbalance between the two countries. He said, Beijing is willing to facilitate access to Indian IT and pharmaceutical products to Chinese markets. Indian and Chinese companies have finalised deals worth 16 billion dollars. The two countries will also be signing agreements in the areas of renewable energy, infrastructure and in other sectors to further enhance bilateral cooperation. Dr Singh hosted a dinner for the Chinese Premier last evening. Mr Wen will be given ceremonial reception at the fore court of Rashtrapati Bhawan this morning. Later he will hold delegation level talks with Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. The two leaders are expected to discuss all issues of concern, including stapled visas, Chinese activities in POK, the boundary issue and the cross-border rivers. They are also expected to discuss a host of global issues, including UN reforms, financial crisis, climate change and terrorism.
