China says one of its most senior policy specialists has held what it termed candid and in-depth talks in Pyongyang with the North Korean President Kim Jong Ill. Announcing the trip, the official Chinese media gave no details of their discussions. The Beijing government has come under increasing pressure from the United States to use all its influence to curb what the Americans called North Korean aggression against the South.
