China has expressed sincere hope and support for dialogue between the two sides on the Korean Peninsula. The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said that Beijing sincerely hoped for, and support helpful engagement and dialogue between North and South Koreas. Ms. Jiang's remarks came a day after South Korean President Lee Myung-bak called for dialogue with the North in a meeting with the Unification Ministry in Seoul. In another meeting on Wednesday, Mr. Lee also hinted a more flexible stance towards resuming the stalled six-party talks, which group China, North Korea, South Korea, the United States, Russia and Japan.
