Chinese imports decreased for a seventh straight month in May while exports also decreased. The General Administration of Customs said in a statement that the Imports decreased 17.6 per cent year on year to 131.26 billion US Dollars. Customs said that the Exports decreased for the third consecutive month, decreasing 2.5 per cent to 190.75 billion US Dollars and the decrease in imports meant the trade surplus increased 65.6 per cent year on year to USD 59.49 billion.
