Chilean television has aired video footage of 33 trapped miners, showing them in good spirits. One of the miners today said they have organised everything really well down there. The 45-minute video has already been seen by families of the miners, trapped 700 meters below the surface since August 5 cave-in blocked the San Jose mine's exit. Meanwhile, Chile's health minister, Jaime Manalich, said the trapped men were suffering from dehydration and have lost a lot of weight since the cave-in. They are now receiving supplies including rehydration drinks. The miners were told that it could take up to four months to rescue them. Meanwhile, the family of one of the miners is suing the mine owners and government inspectors. They accuse the owners the San Jose mine of safety lapses and officials of negligently allowing it to reopen in 2008 following an accident. Amid the lawsuit announcement, a judge ordered 1.8 million dollars of the mine's assets frozen to cover possible compensation costs.
