Chile rescue workers break through to trapped miners

In almost a miraculous rescue in Chile, the 33 miners trapped for more than 2 months saw the light of the day on Saturday with engineers finally breaking through the underground chamber to rescue them. The men were trapped at a depth of seven hundred meters since a part of the San Jose mine collapsed. They were kept alive by pumping in food and Oxygen through a pipe. A parallel shaft was dug to reach them and the Engineers broke through the underground chamber holding the 33 miners on Saturday. It is not clear how much time it will take to bring them out safely as it is a tedious process. There were scene of celebrations around the camp where their families have been waiting for their rescue.
