Children below 5 years of age administered polio vaccine across country

Pulse Polio drops were administered to children below five years of age across the country today on the National Immunisation Day.<br/><br/>President Ram Nath Kovind launched the countrywide pulse polio programme for the year yesterday by administering polio drops to a child at a function at Rashtrapati Bhavan.<br/><br/>As a part of the drive, more than 17 crore children of less than five years across the country will be given polio drops to maintain the country's polio-free status<br/><br/>In Puducherry, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy launched the first phase of the polio immunisation drive today, at a government Girls Higher secondary school in neighbouring Nellithope.<br/><br/>In Telangana, Chief Secretary SP Singh launched first round of Pulse Polio programme in the premises of Basti Dhavakhana at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary said, in the first round, state government aims to cover around fourty lakh children in the age group of 0 to 5 years in the entire state. <br/><br/>In Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami inaugurated the vaccination drive. <br/><br/>In Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir, nearly nineteen thousand children in 0 to 5 age group were vaccinated today. <br/><br/>The second phase of polio immunization in the country has been scheduled on 11th of March.
