Chief Priest of Badrinath shrine arrested in Delhi on molestation charges

The chief priest of the Badrinath shrine, Keshavan Namboodiri has been arrested for allegedly molesting a pregnant woman in a hotel in New Delhi. Police said, his associate Vishnu Prasad was also arrested. They were produced in a court yesterday and sent to 14 days of judicial custody.

The police said the men were drunk at the time of arrest. They have been charged with wrongful confinement and outraging the modesty of a woman.

The Badrinath-Kedarnath temple committee has suspended Namboodiri.
