Asserting that the city had learnt a lesson from the 26/11 terror attacks, Maharashtra home minister Mr. R. R. Patil emphasized on the need for special attention on infrastructure to prepare the state to counter terrorism in future.<br/><br/>Addressing a seminar on 'Preparedness to fight terrorism' , organized by the city police commissionerate in Mumbai, Mr. Patil said that the state government has already decided to take several measures, including strengthening of police force, training camps and development of infrastructure.<br/>Elaborating further, he said that the state government has decided to recruit 15,000 new policemen this year, supply of sophisticated weapons to police force, upgrading of Bomb Disposal Squad and installation of CCTVs across the city. Mumbai Police Commissioner D Sivanandan informed that the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram will unveil a memorial for 18 security personnel, who were killed during the 26/11 terrorist attacks, at Girgaum Chowpati in South Mumbai on November 26. Former Director General of Police (Punjab) KPS Gill and Noted journalist Pravin Swamy were present at the seminar. <br/>
