Chidambaram not to resign on 2G issue: Khurshid

Law Minister Salman Khurshid on Monday said that Home Minister P Chidambaram will not resign on the back of the controversy over Finance Ministry's note on the 2G issue. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a funtion in New Delhi, Mr. Khurshid ruled out reports of any rift within the government on the issue.

On the controversial note by the Finance Ministry Mr. Khurshid said he has seen the note and there is nothing serious in it. He added that the note was prepared by a low rank officer in the ministry and its content was blown out of proportion.

He described the Home Minister as a pillar of strength for the government. He added that UPA is a very lively government and any question regarding a rift does not arise.
