The Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram is expected to hold discussions on the ground situation in Andhra Pradesh with officials and top police officers from the State. <br/><br/>Mr. Chidambaram on Thursday held talks with a Congress delegation which included seven MPs from Telangana who demanded time bound action on this issue. <br/><br/>Highly placed sources indicate that Centre may set up a committee to undertake an exercise to resolve the issue. The proposal to set up a committee comes after all political leaders from Andhra Pradesh agreed to resolve the issue through discussion. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that the Congress core group led by the Party President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is keeping a close watch on the developments. The issue also figured in the meeting of Cabinet Committee on political affairs. <br/>Meanwhile, cracks have surfaced in the Praja Rajyam Party led by Chiranjeevi who supported a United Andhra Pradesh. Two of its MLAs on Thursday met the Home Minister and urged him to take immediate steps for carving out a separate state of Telangana.
