Home Minister Mr. P Chidambaram has invited West Bengal Chief Minister Mr. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee to discuss the prevailing situation in the State. The invitation to the Chief Minister comes after Mr. Chidambram had written a letter to him regarding the alleged role of armed cadres of the CPI(M). The Trinamool Congress had alleged that these cadres are being sheltered at the party camps in three Maoist dominated western districts of West Bengal. AIR correspondent reports that there was a controversy on the letter written by the Home Minister. Mr. Bhattacharya had alleged that it was leaked to the media before it reached him. The Home Minister however clarified on Wednesday that the letter was sent by Speed Post on the 22nd of this month and it should have reached the Chief Minister by 24th. However due to postal delay, it reached on 27th. The Home Ministry made it clear that the Postal Department has regretted the delay in the delivery of the letter.
