Finance Minister, Mr. Chidambaram today hoped that the Reserve Bank of India will address liquidity concern in its monetary policy to be announced tomorrow. Speaking to newsmen after a meeting with the Chief Executives of Public Sector Banks and financial institutions in New Delhi, Mr. Chidambaram said his ministry is in touch with the RBI Governor on the issue. He said he was certain that a liquidity issue will be addressed by the RBI.Replying to a question on reports of alleged money laundering by three private banks, the Finance Minister said he does not want to arrive at any early conclusion on the matter as it is being investigated. Mr. Chidambaram said as a department of financial services the RBI is looking into it closely.
