Chidambaram hands over dealership of petroleum products to 26/11 Martyr's families

The Union Minister of Home Affairs Shri P. Chidambaram said that the eighteen security officers had made the supreme sacrifice and everybody know the sacrifice made in ones' daily life, but it is difficult to comprehend the magnitude of this supreme sacrifice. <br/><br/>He was speaking in a function in which he handed over five appointment letters of petroleum products dealerships to the families of the martyrs of Mumbai Terror attack organized in the honour of the martyrs. He further said that this small gesture will bring some comfort to those families.<br/><br/>Murli Deora, the Minister of Petroleum & Natural gas, Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. Under a especial initiative for rehabilitation providing a recurring source of income to the families of Martyrs, the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas had decided to allot 18 dealerships of Petrol-Diesel, LPG and CNG to various families of the martyrs. Of these in one case the beneficiary has refused to take up the dealership.<br/><br/>On the anniversary of 26/11 police marches ,memorials, prayer meetings were organized in Mumbai. People remembered their losses, lucky escapes and sacrifices of the security personnel.<br/><br/>The image of the Taj hotel in flames is as iconic as the burning towers of 9/11. It will not go away from national memory.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports from Mumbai that the resilient spirit of Mumbai was evident today when the entire city participated in various functions to pay homage to the martyrs and victims of 26/11. The same CST station where Ajmal Kasab gunned down innocent people was the venue for a blood donation camp.<br/><br/>A security parade was held on Marine Drive showcasing the enhanced weapons of the Mumbai police. Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said that the state is fully prepared to fight back another terror attack. Home Minister P Chidambaram lauded the sacrifice made by security personnel at a function where he handed over papers of petrol pumps allotted to families of those slain. Mumbai has been through hell, fought and emerged stronger after 26/11.<br/><br/>
