Finance Minister P. Chidambaram today said government will not need additional borrowings in this current fiscal. He told reporters outside Parliament that government had budgeted market borrowing at 5.7 lack crore rupees in the current financial year to bridge the expenditure- revenue gap. Earlier, Mr. Chidambaram had said that the fiscal deficit may go upto 5.3 percent of the GDP as against budget estimate of 5.1 percent for the current financial year.
