The Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram today expressed hope that the talks with the NSCN(IM) leaders will lead to an honourable negotiated settlement of the Naga issue. The General Secretary of the frontline Naga separatist group National Socialist Council of NagalandNSCN(IM) Muviah who met the Home Minister today told newsmen that they had a comprehensive discussion with him and said that the NSCN-IM will continue negotiations with the centre. He also called on the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh. The rebel leaders are holding talks with the new interlocuter, R.S. Pandey and will continue their discussions tomorrow as well. Our correspondent says that that NSCN (IM) wants greater Nagaland with the Naga dominated areas in the neighbouring states of Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh to be included in it . This is, however , opposed by these states . The last round of peace talks between the government and the separatist group held in March 2009 in Zurich, Switzerland ended in a stalemate. The NSCN-IM had entered into a ceasefire accord with the Indian government in August 1997. They have held 67 rounds of talks with the government so far. The rebel group's chairman Isak Chisi Swu and general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah arrived in New Delhi Saturday night from self-imposed exile in the Netherlands at the invitation of the government.
