Politicians, film personalities, writers, sports stars and a large number of people converged at the lawns of India Gate in the national capital this evening to express their solidarity against the terror which looms large on the Asian continent threatening its peace and stability. It was on this day last year that the terrorist’s siege in Mumbai ended. Union Home Minister Mr. P Chidambaram, Information and Broadcasting Minister Mrs. Ambika Soni, Delhi Chief Minister Mrs. Sheila Dikshit, Film personalities Nandita Das playback singer Shreya Ghoshal, Sports Star Sania Mirza were among the prominent personalities present at the function. A one minute silence was observed at the function to pay homage to those who lost their lives in the Mumbai terror attack. The patriotic fervor was at its peak to send a message loud and clear that India is one against its fight against terror and the victory is at the threshold. The tone was set by Olympic Gold Medalist Abhinav Bindra who emphatically said that victory against this evil is the only option.<br/><br/>Bollywood super star Shah Rukh Khan asserted that terrorism has no religion and it is only the antithesis of human philosophy.<br/><br/>The school children mesmerized the audience by the rendition of the Gandhi Bhajan Vaishnav Jan. While Kavita Krishnamurthy joined by Shankar Mahadevan presented famous Raghupati Raghav bhajan in a novel way.<br/><br/> <br/>But it was Javed Akhtar who in his forceful poem suggested those who are killing the innocents at the behest of someone must see reason otherwise India is ready to wipe them out.<br/><br/> As the lighting in the backdrop of India Gate suggested that it is the break of a new dawn — free from terror that has the determination to be united against any attack on the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country.<br/>
