Chidambaram convenes meeting on Telegana issue

The Home Minister P Chidambaram has convened a meeting of political parties from Andhra Pradesh to discuss the Justice SriKrishana Committee report on Telegana issue. Eight parties have been invited to the meeting.AIR Hyderabad correspondent reports hectic political parleys are underway in the wake of the meeting. Telangana Rashtra Samithi which had initially decided not to attend the meeting , is reconsidering the centre’s invitation to attend the meeting. This follows a letter by the Home minister to TRS President K Chandrasekhara Rao. The Telugu Desam Party is yet to take a final decision on attending the meeting. The Congress, CPI, CPM, Praja Rajyam Party and MIM will be attending the meeting. BJP has announced its decision not to attend it. In the national capital Finance Minister and senior Congress Leader Pranab Mukherjee today told Congress leaders from Andhra Pradesh K Sambasiva Rao and Uttam Kumar Reddy, that they will get some time to give their opinion on the Justice SriKrishana report. After the meeting, the two congress leaders told reporters separately that Mukherjee told them that meeting has been convened to hand over the 600-page report to political parties to seek their response. Law Minister and party in-charge of Andhra Pradesh M Veerappa Moily was also present during the meeting.
