Union Home Minister P Chidambaram today exuded confidence that Indian economy will bounce back. Highlighting the achievements of the UPA government to media in Bhopal today, he said that due to its inherent strength and resilience India will overcome the challenges of financial crisis. He said that international economic context in UPA II is very difficult and challenging and therefore results are different. Regarding security situation in the country, Mr. Chidambaram said that remarkable changes have come in Jammu and Kashmir and North East scenarios. Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed lowest injuries while in North East every group is talking with government including ULFA. He said that significant achievements have been made in different sectors including Telecom, Power, education and social sectors in the country during the last three years.
Law and Minority Affairs Minister Salman Khursheed said that the government has tried its best to curb the price rise. He said that the government has also paved the way for rise in income of people through various schemes and welfare measures.
Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office V Narayansami said that the union government is taking all genuine and practical steps to curb corruption. It has also empowered common man through several legislations including RTI and RTE.
