Home Minister P Chidambaram has condemned the cold blooded murder of a Police Inspector Francis Induwar in Jharkhand by the naxals. He said it is simply not acceptable. Mr. Chidambaram also made it clear that there was no demand from Naxals for any swap of prisoners for the policeman whose body with severed head was found near Ranchi. Asked whether this action of Naxals came ahead of a full fledged crackdown against Maoists planned by the Centre, Mr. Chidambaram said, the Government has not said anything and these are media speculations. The Home Minister said the Maoists' grand scheme to create liberated zone will not succeed as every government was duty bound to protect its people and ensure that the writ of civil administration runs in every part of the state.
