In a minor reshuffle in portfolios of Cabinet Ministers, P Chidambaram moved to Finance Ministry; Sushil Kumar Shinde gets Home and Veerappa Moily given additional charge of Power Ministry.
In a reshuffle of portfolios in the Union Cabinet, Home Minister P Chidambaram has been again given the charge of Finance Ministry. A Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said that Power Minister Sushilkumar Shinde will be the new Home Minister. Corporate Affairs Minister M Veerappa Moily has been given the additional charge of the Power Ministry. The reshuffle of portfolios had been necessitated by the exit of Pranab Mukherjee, who held the portfolio of Finance Ministry before getting elected as the President.
India Inc has welcomed Mr Chidambaram's retun as Finance Minister. FICCI Secretary General Rajiv Kumar said industry expects that Mr Chidambaram will bring back the growth momentum by urgently implementing the much needed reforms.
Echoing similar views, CII President Adi Godrej said the industry is looking forward for his help in the early implementation of all the important reforms to bring back the economic growth on higher trajectory.
Assocham Secretary General DS Rawat said the industry is confident that Mr Chidambaram will introduce sound fiscal management.
